So Doom
As named after Sodom, a German thrash metal band, So Doom is a friendly fork of Crispy Doom (that in itself is a port of Chocolate Doom). According to its README file, the port "aims to provide a faithful Doom gaming experience while also featuring some user-requested improvements and enhancements. It is forked off of Crispy Doom to take advantage of its free and open-source code base, portability, accuracy and compatibility with Vanilla Doom".
The port removes the static limits issue that effects some Doom ports including the visplane overflow, a fatal error that occurs in vanilla Doom when there are more than 128 unique floor and ceiling surfaces (visplanes) on the screen at the same time, the port also includes a singleplayer-only optional removal of INTERCEPTS limit
Along with this, So Doom adds other new things such as having widescreen, new cheat codes, and an in-game control of pixel aspect ratio correction, meaning that the user does not need to manually edit the so-doom.cfg file.
